Syrian hamsters are very territorial, and therefore they must be kept separate from Dwarf hamsters/ Roborovskis. You can't mix the two breeds together, as they would end up killing each other!

Also please note that Syrian male hamsters do not get on with other Syrian male hamsters. Each one must be kept in his own cage!

No! It would not be a good idea to place a Syrian Hamster in the same cage as a dwarf hamster. Syrian Hamsters are social with humans, however kill any other hamster within site in it's cage after 10 weeks or 10 months. I forget. But it would not be a good idea to cage them together.

Syrian hamsters dont go in the same cage as another syrian let alone a dwarf hamster!!!!!

Syrian hamsters are solitary animals once adulthood is reached (at around 8 weeks old). If housed with another hamster vicious fighting will occur, resulting in death for one of the hamsters. Never, ever, house a syrian hamster with another hamster. The end result is just awful.

NO hamster should be housed together. Hamsters are solitary animals and will usually fight violently if housed together. When you see them in the petstores all crammed in a tank, they are usually young or very stressed. This is not natural for them. They do not need buddies. Each hammy should have it's own cage and it will be happy.
