when they answer with just a reference to scripture, e.g. Romans: 5,6,7,8, hut, hut, hike?

Do they really expect anyone is going to read through 10 pages of mind-numbingly boring and irrelevant bible quotes? Or worse have the desire to track down every bible quote reference to see what the heck their argument was? It's like they expect us to go on some biblical treasure hunt just to figure out what their point was. Well, I guess God does work in mysterious ways.

Six of one, half-dozen of the other.

I'd really just like to hear from their own mouths best of all... I've read the effin' book of errors already and I'll probably do it again one of these years.... if it rains enough.

They tend not to quote scripture when emailing me. I know the bible and quote it when it is relevant and I am directing my remarks at Christians.

I believe they do not use scripture with me because they can tell I know the bible and I am usually pointing out how they misquote and twist scripture. Only one exception and the man was so blinded by his own belief that he was an expert, that he could not even read and understand that the scriptures he quoted was saying something completely different than what he was trying to prove. He quoted scripture talking about a person could fall from grace, but he tried to twist these scripture to prove you could not. At least when people try to say baptism is not needed they do not quote scripture that demands scripture.

Al he could do is say he is the expert and called people morons and stupid, things that Jesus never did and would not apporve of. honestly, I first thought he was an atheist trying real hard to meake Christians look bad, but I changed that opinion when I noticed he had me blocked. That is s sign he was threatened by my knowledge of scripture, and atheist would not have been.

It's their way of getting you to read the bible. The reasoning behind it is they think if you go and look it up your going to have a change of heart. Like Saul on the road to Damascus.I do read the passage once in way while though I'm not Christian any more.

I know I hate that. If I wanted the bible's opinion, I would've read it. It's too hard to put it into your own words apparently.
But then there's those that reference the Bible like that like someone would reference a credible source to back up their opinion, like it's an accurate authority. LOL

I just answer them with quotes from Yoda; lets face it, its equally valid.

When I encounter someone who feels the need to quote some holy magic book I just cant help but think low iq or even brain damage.

Sorry, but I do think it's foolish to copy paste a bible scripture to a non-Christian. It's rude and disrespectful. If they want to know about the bible, they'll ask you or read it themselves. Handing them unwanted information is close to being the religion-pushers I want us so not to be.

The reference doesn't take up as much room on the page.

Just give me the numbers. I can always choose not to look them up.

By and large, more information = less meaning.

Both the examples you give are intolerable.
