Personally, I know I could only ignore that crap for so long.
I'm no longer a part of their mental gymnastics circus.

As a rule, mormons have much more to lose than any other religious group, since it's a culture (cult is the base word) that demands total obedience to ALL the doctrine, not just the ones you like. There must be millions of mormons who lie to get their temple rec, not out of dishonesty, but because their economy, marriage and social life depend on it.

Many lds know of the little leaks and disconnects of their doctrine, but ignoring it instead of debating it is the official decree. Those who claim they know for a fact that JS was prophet and the BoM is absolutely true may not actually believe it, but must never reveal the cracks in their foundation.

Apologists attempt to place doctrine in today's time frame, but end up complexifying a simple doctrine, extend bounds of logic, and end up looking like OJ Simpson's defense lawyers: 99% truth is not 'total truth' so this man (doctrine) gets acquitted (resolved).

Yahoo has it's place, and if mormons don't like the diversity of opinion or explanations, they are invited to leave the forum.

Mormons believe that not everything has been revealed yet, so there are going to be things that people don't understand ... Mormons also believe with prayer and obedience people can gain greater understanding. But in the end Mormons can't answer every question with the knowledge they have right now. The LDS Church is based on faith and believes that you can know the truth by diligently seeking it ... but one key is that you need a broken heart and a contrite spirit ... if you have a spirit of contention (which you may) they don't believe the Holy Spirit can work.

One problem with Mormonism is that when they get to an unanswerable enigma they make up an answer, no matter how goofy it is. "That's not doctrine!" "That was an opinion!" "Prophets aren't right all the time!" "That's taken out of context!" "Those ruins are obviously Nephite- not Aztec!" Blah, blah, blah.......

Before answering any questions on this forum I try to determine the sincerity of the asker. If it is meant as flame bait I generally ignore it. Likewise the same questions get repeated with such fequency that I don't feel like becoming a parrot.

There are no unanswerable enigmas, as far as believing tehh church to be true. The anti-Mormons would have you think that we are much more complex and confusing than we really are.

The strength of the "will" in its commitment to faith, allows the LDS adherents to overlook enigmas. Also that strength is reinforced by substituting indoctrination, which overcompensates for these weaknesses, and short-circuits reasoning....

In other words, as you simply say, they ignore questions....

This is a very serious condition. To ignore, is a sort of contempt and hatred for the truth. It is what keeps the LDS isolated from other religions....It is the first and foremost truth to oneself to question everything concerning doctrines of faith, and not to follow in blind faith. Those that follow blindly, will just end up in the ditch....or worse.

Consider the problems facing the LDS concerning history, and it ex-communicating those professional historians within its ranks, that even bring up the question....This makes the LDS more inclined to "kill the truth", rather than face the question. All the "commoners' are then kept in line by fear of even questioning....

Much of the time we Mormons choose not to answer the same old vindictive tripe that is put out on this form in the guise of a question. It's not that we cannot provide a logical response, but one that often falls between the cracks of willful intelligence on the part of the questioner.

It has also been said that we Latter-day Saints know far more than the average Christian on Christiandom matters. I believe that more every day.

What about what other so-called Christians believe, such as a 3-headed God who is his own father and son? Be careful who you point your finger at.

You're limiting this epiphany to just mormonism?
