If air support is used, then one will have a difficult time escaping a high speed chase.
However, if air support is not used, then the speeder has a better chance. It's hard to beat the radio, though.
I read once that the escape route for automobiles was about 20% and 40% for motorcycles. However, most were eventually caught later.
The consequences for running from police are severe, so never try it!

The pursuits that make it on tv always end up with the cops winning. Those shows are a sort of propoganda for the police. In reality, a lot of people do get away. Many police departments have "no chase" policies, especially in high risk environments, such as near schools and playgrounds. But many times, by the time you run, the cops already know who you are and will just find you later (provided you're not driving a stolen car). I ran from the cops once when I was 15 and it wasn't that hard to get away, but looking back, I wouldn't ever do anything that stupid again.

It is rare that people really escape. Once the chase is on, information is broadcast through a network of police and even police agencies. Some high speed chases have been ended by police to avoid collateral damage. The suspects were caught later, tracked down by their license plates and descriptions.

no longer me yet a pal of the kin. He grow to be in yet another state in one day on open highway and the motor vehicle next to him began racing. A cop began chasing the two one in all them. They the two had larger engines than the cop who for some reason did no longer call returned up. They hit the state line and he purely enable them to circulate!

well some police departments dont do high speed chases because it only puts more people in danger...they especially dont chase speed bikes. Once they have the plate number they can call if off...

I used to outrun them all the time on my dirt bike. I would always drive it downtown....pop a wheelie in front of them.....and go for the hills. After 5 years they still couldn't catch me. This is in high school of course. I went back and talked to one of the cops that used to chase me. We actually laughed at it.
