Exactly ! It's funny how these racist, right-wing "shock jocks" on radio and on t.v. are celebrating that this bill didn't pass. But what are they celebrating about?? There are still millions of illegals here in the U.S. that are never going back.
These bigots just didn't want "Mexicans" getting any benefits since that's all they mentioned in their hate campaign, not the millions of illegal Asians, Arabs or Iranians. Also, if this bill did pass these racist right-wingers couldn't keep up their hate talk on the radio against Mexicans....they have to look for a new scapegoat that will fight back with lawsuits, and since they are basically cowards, they don't want that.

Rule of Law?...how can you post such a bigoted statement and talk of the Rule of Law? Americans do not hate..fear or especially disrespect anyone ...on average...It would appear however that you and those like you have the wrong idea about what it takes to make a country Strong and Productive. Blaming talk radio listeners and callng them bigots is not the way to go...name calling does nothing but offend people...no matter what your race or nationality...or political leaning. Understand something...most people in the USA ..are law abiding citizens.. and the American Society for the most part...is governed according to established laws...this does not mean we are ignorant or have fear of anyone coming into the USA to make us "less able to compete". This issue with Immigration is not a racial issue ..it is an issue of Standards..and of social values and respect for American Laws and Customs,.. if people ..come here flagrantly breaking laws..by the thousands...sure Americans are going to get Angry...People coming Into the USA ,..will respect the American Value System...or they will be deported....or otherwise incarcerated...i know of no other Country in the World...that would willingly open its arms to those who...have no regard for that country's Rule of Law.

I would not paint the anti-immigration crowd with such a broad brush. Some actually believe this is a law and order issue, but subconsciously I suspect a lot of this xenophobia is culturally driven. This subconscious rational is not designed to target a specific ethnic group, but a general anti-foreigner feeling that is sweeping significant segments of the population.
The bigger problem I find with the debate is the fact that few on the anti-immigration side have done a true cost benefit analysis of the situation. Yes some might abuse our social services, but how does this compare to the economic contribution of immigrants? Why do we have a domestic labor shortage? Nobody seems to want to talk about these questions is the problem.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907
There is a huge difference beetween stupid and ignorant. On a personal note, you are more ignorant than any of us could ever be....how about you go and live with everybody else that is so much better than white Americans. Leave....its simple.

If they were to agree with you, then they would be lying. The truth is the cost involved with maintaining such a large illegal population in what most consider to be a welfare country. The fact is that most talk show hosts are far more successful than the lower wage illegals, who do not pay the same taxes. Also, the fact that legal citizens have a bigger chance of getting a speeding ticket than the illegals have of being deported makes many people angry. If you are legal, and decide not to pay the IRS, you will be prosecuted like you have never been, however, illegals demand amnesty from their back taxes. Good luck.
Who exactly said they were Mexican? It looks like the person who answered before me. Who is the racist?

Atheists are almost perpetually bigots; this is mandatory to maintain or justify the placement. yet there isn't any faith because of the fact they do no longer seek for to describe the reason of their existence. "precise Wing" skill conservative. maximum atheists are liberals, to assert the least.

that is such crap. if French speaking Canadians were sneaking across the border, so they could work under the table and drive down our wages, fill up our schools with children who cannot and WILL NOT learn English and demand the curriculum be bilingual, clog our emergency rooms with uninsured patients and driving up health care costs, and filling up our roads with uninsured motorists who cannot read the signage, there would be a backlash against Quebecians. It has nothing to do with race. We have borders and laws for a reason. respect them or go home.

Why don't you be honest? Just because we don't like it when people disregard out laws doesn't make us xenophobes. I'm not afraid of Mexicans, I just think they need to go back to Mexico until they are ready to come here legally.
It is never good for a nation to be overrun by millions of people who refuse to change their lifestyle and adapt to the country that they are moving to. Vast uncontrolled immigration influxes are a typical indicator that a nation's infrastructure and legal system is weakening, and it is often a sign pointing to a decline in that society.
Look at the Greeks, the Romans, the British Empire, etc. if you don't believe me.

I am neither "right winged" nor a "bigot". And if your agument held any water, then you would obviously consider Georgie Boy to be as "right wing" as they come, however HE seems to have NO respect for the laws and the Constitution and seeing that those are upheld and enforced!!! Why do you think so many republicans have even labeled him a traitor??? He seems to have NO problem allowing drug smuggling mexicans AND other nationalities (who may carry infectious diseases, and be mass murderers and rapists) to invade our borders, all the while trying to convince the American public that our nation is under such a terrible threat from "terrorists!", and other undesirables. Puh-leeeeze!

I'm not in favor of opening the floodgates to just anybody who demands to be a citizen here and I'm not right wing in any sense of the word. As for those right wing types, you want to keep in mind that there are NO LIBERALS in the Ku Klux Klan and never have been!
