It seems Iike a deer hits me once year and yes you have to pay your deductible.. In IOWA they ask us if we want a tag for the deer if we kill it.

You pay your comprehensive deductible (not your collision deductible since it is not considered an accident). The company pays the rest to repair up to the actual cash value of your car (if the damages exceed a certain % of the value of the car, they will total it & pay you the ACV, less your deductible).
Don't believe everything you hear, especially with insurance, there are a lot of myths out there. The only people you should believe when it comes to your insurance policy are people that work at your insurance company or your insurance agent.

Usually it is considered an act of GOD, or at least the deers fault and I doubt the deer was insured, same thing happened to me a few years ago

Deer hits are covered under your comprehensive coverage and NO, your deductible will not be waived if you have one.
