if you think like one (just want to starve, never want to eat again, think about food 24/7) are you considered an anorexic?? even if you don't weigh like one?

or is there another term used to someone who thinks like an anorexic yet is average weight? (and still eats 1200-1500 calories)

How about anorexia wannabe? I used to get like that as a teen: envious of the girls who were able to resist the lure of food to that extent. That's because skinny can go so much further before it is unattractive than fat can. A few pounds overweight and you feel awful. A few pounds underweight and you feel great, look good in high-class clothes, etc.

I've been watching an old movie with Audrey Hepburn. Would she be considered anorexic by today's standards, or just elegantly slim?

Perhaps the term for you is self-controlled, and you are to be congratulated. Granted, it is no fun to have that internal turmoil, but if you are in your teens or early twenties, it goes with the territory. Just look in your mirror and remember that you are having strength of will. And I'm guessing you don't literally think about food ALL the time; you probably think about men and pretty clothes and all the rest, as well.

This period of your life will pass.

well an anorexic person would be to where you can see his or her bones, cutting her food up into little peices so it looks like she ate most of it,hiding her food and saving it up,getting skinnier every day and looking in the mirror looking fatter to herself every day,and skinnier than heck.
so if their average wheit and eats 1200 to 1500 calories a day,no they arent anerexic.

you might not suffer from actual anorexia, however if you act on those thoughts then you will. if you are concerned about your weight, then eat healthy food and get regular excercise, starving yourself is not the answer.

Eating disorders are mental illness. Just because you aren't a stick, doesn't mean you don't have it. Here's more info on eating disorders:

no. the term anorexia means you are severely underweight. just because you think like one, dosnt mean you are one. and anorexia is a life threatening condition that WILL eventually kill you.
