While I was sleeping, my 8 months old cat brough me in bed her weakest 1 day old kitten.
She usually likes sleeping in my bed. Is it because she wanted to be with me but had to bring her weakest kitten or she felt I should help the kitten??? She left the 2 other kittens alone in the box. I was able to reunite them all and moved the box on my bed so she felt secure close to me...
Any ideas why she acted this way?

Also, later on the night I woke up to another kitten crying. She had brought it under my bed. She stayed beside the kitten but it seemed like she did not know what to do. I again was able to reunite them all but I don't understand her behaviour.

I know we better not touch the young kittens but she does not give me a choice. Has this ever happen to any of you? Why do you think my cat is acting this way?

Note: They are 1 day old and she had gave birth to 5 kittens but 2 dead ones =(

Me again.. I am new with this website and wowow it is GREAT! I want to THANK all of you. This abandonned already pregnant kitten kept showing up on my balcony so I decided to keep her but I was so worried as what to do since it is my first cat. You have all reassured me (Thank you again) and I understand your concern ''ann m'' but I am keeping 1 kitten and my best friend will be a home to the 2 others... and we will definetly get them spayed when the time! Keep the love for cats! Aren't they just adorable?!!! ;)

She needs a quiet peaceful place and evidently where she was wasn't suitable for her. She may be more comfortable having her box put under the bed so she can have some privacy. Don't put her box in a high traffic area or noisy area, make sure she has a cozy private area where she feels the kittens will be safe. Cats will move their kittens if they feel the area they are in is not suitable or quiet/private enough.

You can touch her kittens! Cats will not desert their young just because someone touched them. The kittens will be better off if you hold them for brief periods of time so that they learn to enjoy humans and are happy in their new homes when they are adopted later.

She is bringing them up to sleep where she likes to sleep. She wants to sleep with you AND her kittens.

Many cats move their kittens a lot, so just be careful that you always know where they are. It seems that very young mother cats are particularly prone to moving their kittens a lot. Older cats tend to only move them if they think they are not safe where they are.

The likely reason she lost two of her kittens is that she is really too young to give birth. Nevertheless she seems like she is doing her best to be a good mother.

You need a box where the cats can go in and out of. Put a wrm blanket in the box. The mom is just trying to keep her babies warm. And that seems to be a warm spot to her, so she will do the same fior her babies. Or you could spray her with water (without baby in her mouth) when she comes to put one in your bed. Or, you could always sleep somewhere else. She might think that you could take care of them though. I don't know, a long time ago my cat did that.... Lock them in a room for a couple of days, of course with food and water and litter and a place to sleep and everything, but that should show the mother that she can't try to leave her kittens with you.

You are right to be concerned about your mama cat and her babies. Have you considered how young your cat is to be having kittens? This is really far too young and a shame she was not spayed, there are so many cats/kittens euthanized every year. Your mama cat does not know what to do and may not be strong enough to care for and nurse her little ones. She clearly needs some help. I suggest you call your local animal shelter or rescue group for assistance. In the mean time watch her to see if she is nursing them okay. She may need to be close to you for her comfort...after all, she is still basically a kitten herself. Please realize that your cat and these kittens will only add to the number of homeless or euthanized cats if they are not neutered or spayed. That is animal cruelty. I wish you luck

Cats instinctively move their babies.
First time moms sometimes get "confused" by the whole thing. Sometimes they wind up in very unusual places.

Mother cats will share kittens, raise other's babies as their own. Maybe she thinks it's your turn to baby sit.

Kittens can be handled from day one. As long as mama isn't upset, it won't hurt them at all. As a matter of fact, it makes them better pets.

She sees you as a friend and a safe place, you should be happy.

Cats instinctively know when a baby isn't doing well. She may very well have brought you the weak one for help.

Cats generally like the most secure and comfortable places they can find while raising kittens. It's possible she wanted a better nest and was going to bring her kittens by your bed.

actually you can touch them b/c my cat just had kittens and all those websites say you cant you and she will still take care of them the only reason she will not take care of them is if they are sick and she can sinse that. She might not know what to do since she is so young and is trying to tell you to help her so if she isnt feeding them or anything that she should be doing you need to go to the store and by cat milk for kittens and feed them yourself. AND TRUST ME YOU CAN TOUCH THEM DONT LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO TELL YOU NOT TO THEY ARE JUST STUPID. AND I WOULD LLIE TO YOU BECAUSE I LOVE KITTINS AND CATS AND LIKE I SAID MY CAT JUST HAD KITTINS AND WE TOUCHED THEM ALL AND THEY ARE ALL STILL LIVING.
NOTE:she had 5 also and Im so sorry about the other 2

I think you're right - she just wanted to be in a secure place with her kittens. This site should help too:
