This is a very good question and would be an entertaining fight. Duran was very fierce and determined and would definetly come after De La Hoya and look to counter his jabs with right hand bombs. De La Hoya's best chance would be to keep Duran on the outside with jabs but Duran is also a very good boxer and would work his way inside where he is most effective with body and head shots. De La Hoya would fight hard against the legendary Duran but would get beat up almost every round. Duran by unanimous decision in this fight.

Hands of Stone, the greatest lightweight champion, would break down and knockout the Golden Boy. Duran gave Sugar Ray Leonard his first loss and I believe Leonard was a much better fighter than Oscar, for Leonard in all his big fights except for the first Duran fight found a way to win. De la Hoya has come up short. In other words an all time great fighter would walk through a good fighter and Oscar is only a good fighter, not an all time great like Duran.

I love De La Hoya, I think he is a great guy and I like what he is doing outside the ring for the sport but Hands of Stone would KO Oscar.

Roberto Duran in his prime would beat De La Hoya at his prime by split decision but it would be one heck of a fight to watch but of course that would be impossible

At 140 I would say would be the best place to have it. De la Hoya was at his best at 140 IMO, while Duran was at his best at 135, so close. As for the fight, Duran by KO.

I really like DLH as a fighter, but he`s developed a real bad habit of letting me down in the big ones. If the fights at lightweight it`s a hard one. I`ll go with Duran.
