Jesus did not say that.
The evnagelist and convert, Paul, said that. He was a man who never met Jesus in his life time and was one of those person who persecuted the early Christains until one day, while heading to Dammascus to persecute more Christians, he had a seizure, fell off his horse and attributed the whole event to a vision of Jesus.
Jesus said a person is saved by doing the will of God and by worhispping God alone. Jesus may well have been a Muslim.

Jesus gave us grace on the cross. Paul explained it. Got a problem with that?

Ever read the Gospel of John? " For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on him should not parish but have everlasting life". what is that if not saved by grace though faith." and
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" so
"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
How can any these verse be talking about anything but salvation by grace through faith.. Mummmm, Maybe this is where Paul got his ideas... Jim

the term "saved by grace" is much used out of context, yes the gift of eternal life cannot be earned but Jesus made it pefrectly clear that you had to be worthy to recieve it
(Matthew 7:13-14) . . .“Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.
(Matthew 7:21-23) 21Â “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22Â Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23Â And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
(James 2:14-17) 14Â Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? 15Â If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, 16Â yet a certain one of YOU says to them: “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but YOU do not give them the necessities for [their] body, of what benefit is it? 17Â Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.
even Paul expressed this in (1 Corinthians 9:27) . . . but I pummel my body and lead it as a slave, that, after I have preached to others, I myself should not become disapproved somehow. . .
(Hebrews 10:26) 26 For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left. . .

Yes and Jesus called Paul his chosen vessel, so I wouldn't be so quick to write off things merely because Paul said them and not Jesus. Jesus didn't choose the wrong "vessel."
Act 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
