i interviewed at walmart last monday and i havent heard anything back, last they told me is they are going to do a background check. i havent heard anything. i dont really care about the job im more worried something was wrong in my background check like that there is an arrest warrant and the police will come and get me (its a phobia of mine its highly unlikely i have a warrant) so my concern is maybe they are still deciding or maybe they passed me up but would they let me know

They will probably not call you but if they do a background check it could mean they will make you an offer. Normally when you don't get a job you never hear anything. If they say they didn't hire you they will not normally tell you why just they found a more qualified applicant. That saves them being sued for thing like recrimination based on a protected status.

The only way that you would have an arrest warrant that you don't know about is if you got a traffic or parking violation that you blew off. Otherwise if they had a warrant for your arrest, they would've gotten you by now.

Wouldn't be surprised if Wal-mart never called you back b/c they probably get thousands of people applying. You could follow-up with a phone call or email to the person who you interviewed with if you really want to know but give them 2 weeks.

Most companies either send a letter or you never hear from them.

This has happened to me before, when I was around 21-23 yrs old. I had applied at Toys R Us for a seasonal job and, was even told by the person interviewing me I was more then qualify for the job and would hear from them soon. Well a week went by and nothing so I decided to call them and asked to speak, too the person who gave me the interview. Of course I get some excuse from another worker telling me she wasn't there. But I knew she was another week goes by and sure enough the job is given to someone else. Even though I said I would work overtime, weekends etc.

Don't give up. I applied for a job, had an interview and they said they would call by the end of the week. Another week went by without word and they finally called me in on a wednesday for a 2nd interview and said that they would let me know on friday. Another week and a half went by and then they called back saying I had the job. Your background check probably has to go through corporate in Bentonville, AR and that may take awhile because they have lots of them to do. Don't give up. Good luck

I've applied for 2 jobs that i didn't get, and one of them was for the city so they sent me a letter, but the other one was just a reguler job and they didn't call me.

I also have some knowlegde from when my mother was looking for a job, usually when it's a big corporation they'll send you a letter, but if it's like a small business they won't call you or notify you, they just don't have the time or resources to notify everyone who applied for the job.

you don't know if you've broken the law? call them up and say that..."i had an interview and hadn't heard back, i was just calling to check on the status of the position. Has it been filled?" some employers don't let you know, some do, that's a good question for the end of an interview...will you notify me, how long, how will i be notified....?

Sometimes they call and tell you that you didn't get the job. A lot of the time you just never hear from them.

If there was a warrant out for you, you'd know it, so quit worrying about that.
