I asked a question stating that I "felt like" beating somebody up (beating up a child molester actually) and somebody inferred by their answer that I was a hypocrite for "thinking" this way. It's not human to want to beat up such a person? A few said to mind my own business. (They are next door and I really don't want to be raped or any of the kids around here) Maybe they have a past and that's why they are offended? I have no idea.

Sometimes atheists are really quick to jump on things like this.
"AHA! This so called Christian is wanting to beat someone up! Not Christian! Christians are supposed to forgive everyone! I caught a BIG loophole in so called Christianity here!"
Never mind that if the child molester lived next door to THEM, they might want to beat them up, too. Or maybe even more than that.
Atheists are just waiting to pounce on any human fault they see in a Christian!
Please be very careful to guard yourself, your family, the other neighbor's kids, everyone from this molester.

I think you should feel whatever you feel and not let anyone tell you you can't feel that way. I don't think you're a hypocrit, I'd wanna beat someone up to if they raped or molested someone and I'd probably wanna do worse, and I'm Christian. People just wanna be buttheads and you have to let it go. Be you and stand proud that you have your faith but still believe in standing up for your convictions. FYI, rape/molestation IS EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS FOLKS!! Get involved and help get these freaks off the streets and away from our children. I'm with ya girl, don't listen to those people, they're just looking for an outlet for their anger.

Well you do have to consider that in Christianity, thought-crime is punishable. After all, you have to believe in God no matter what your actions are, right? And let's not forget that you're supposed to avoid other thoughts like lust, greed, envy, and the relevant one, wrath.

If you claim to believe in something with specific tenets and you don't live by those standards, then you are a hypocrite. Granted, that's not the worst or most destructive hypocrisy I've seen. I probably wouldn't even see it that way at first glance unless this was mentioned in the context of a Christian question. That would highlight it as hypocrisy.

MOST religions go by tradition in a major way. And when they are shown from the Bible that it is unChristian to follow tradition, they get mad and try to make excuses. People don't like being corrected, but they should, because they need to care about their Creator. If they say they love God, they need to show it by doing what he wants. A person that really wants to be a Christian needs to follow Jesus Christ and he denounced following traditions of men rather than of the Word of God. So how are they Christians if they do opposite of what Jesus did and preached?

Good question....I think it is because they want excuses to attack/bash us at every opportunity.
We're damned if we do and damned if we don't.

LOL, such is life.

What is not fair is that because SOME Christians are hypocrites and do one thing while saying another, they say we ALL are. It's not fair, but then life isn't fair.

ALL of the atheists, etc. don't do this, but some of them do. They have to contend with some Christians treating ALLof them unkindly because SOME atheists are unkind, call us idiots, etc.

If your are a Christian my dear then remember this, The word of God tells to

"not be fearful of him that can hurt your flesh or take you life, but fear Him that is able to Destroy Hell and the Grave"

"For God has not given you a spirit of fear, but a Spirit of Power, and of Love, and of a Sound Mind".

I replied to you other question at length, and I will now be direct with you, don't let the enemy (the devil or his demons) come and tell you anything that is not true. "If God be for us who can be against us".

This person , this man you speak of sounds to me as if he has to have reported to all his neighbors that he is a sex offender. So now you know, he has probably been in jail or prison, and he will be monitored closley by police. ( check to see if he has an ankle braclet or police tracking device). Do you have a husband, boyfriend, children? Pastor or male clergy that can look after you, other girl friends that come by and check on you? You have a cell phone, or maybe a panic button for a security agency that can hear you if something happens?

No I don't think you are a hipocrite, because it is a God given desire to be protective of yourself. Selfpreservation is His gift to all of us, but unrational fears about a person, that may be just that, unrational, thats just not of God.

Now if I were to say anything about you I would wonder why as a Christian do you call yourself "sweetthang" and use a girls legs in gogo boots as your pic? Kinda makes me wonder what message are you sending, to men, or to Christ? Do you have a self immage of being a "sex kitten" cause that's what your Pic and community name implies to me, and your profile dose not dispute this nor do you have a 360 for me to review to see how genuine you are towards you proclaimed faith or "Christian' ethics.

I speak to you child as an elder in the Body of Christ (25 plus years a Christian) I am concerned for you and you safety, but you know what they say "put a fox in the hen house and he will eat chicken for dinner every nite" are you playing the part of the hen outwardly? I mean is your self immage derived by wanting men to stare at you, and do you dress that way in public to be flirty?

Enough said, (maybe to much) please do what you must to give yourself peace of mind (take a selfdeffence class) but at the same time review your life style to ensure you are being modest (or moderation in all things as Paul taught us).

God Bless you and The Peace of Christ be unto you.

Bob

PS: Get a real pic and change that handle if you want to be taken seriously. Be, and repersent yourself as the person that God made you. Cause "sweetthang" truely implies something a little Christ like and a little more worldly.

If a christian person makes the same mistake over and over again, consciously knowing that it is wrong and not God's will, THEN they are considered a hypocrite. I think that goes for both human's and christian's alike.

Well its just that sometimes Christians uphold society to their standards, when even they can't follow their own moral code. For instance, trying to enact a law prohibiting civil unions, claiming the bible as your authority on this matter, while at the same judging people and wanting to physically hurt someone, which is also prohibited in the bible.

It's not being a hypocrite to do something wrong. It's being a hypocrite to do something wrong while telling other people that they can't do anything wrong.

If y'all could only practice what you preach no one would call you hypocrites.
