I don't understand why atheists object to the Bible because they think it was written by men without inspiration from God, yet they cling to books like the God Delusion. Isn't Richard Dawkins a man?
Although times change, principles don't so the Bible is still applicable and relevant now just as it was 2,000 years ago.
Those who haven't seen or heard of The God Delusion may want to try the fiction section in all good book shops.

I just finished reading it, and I thought it was bad. Dawkins just wanted to trash religion, and not be fair in his comments. He used only bad examples, never mentioning some of the good that religion has done (examples most Christians view in a bad light, too.) He should be willing to have honest debates with "normal" Christians, not just the bottom of the barrel. He misrepresents what Christians believe...it can't be that he doesn't know, he just doesn't care.
He didn't include enough solid evidence to back the scientific claims he made. If it was his opinion, it was treated as fact, no matter what. He was arrogant and belittling. I wanted to chuck the book against the wall 1/2 way through because of his tone. I don't think it will win many people to his side...it may just help the ones who already on his side.

Before I read the god delusion I was an agnostic, now I am an atheist. Dawkins is a bit angry which is quite wearing, but it's a brilliant book and he very cleverly, with his powers of reasoning, blows apart all the god crap.

A few noted ones have, and some of them were sufficiently inspired to write books of there own with names like 'The Dawkins Delusion' - and similar weak puns.
Unfortunately these tend to be flabby critiques, typically shouting at Dawkins for being so rude, aggressive and confrontational - rather than addressing the points raised. Ho hum.

Dawkins is just another of the many 'quack' theorists that have tried to set themselves up as some authority on life and religion over the centuries...so the answer is "I don't read science fiction books"
Best wishes, Mike.

Most Christians don't like anybody talking down of their belief, well most humans of any kind don't. But come on guys do you really think that a story written 2000 years ago really stands up today.
