Locating petroleum in the earth is based entirely on the assumption of a very old earth, and that these pockets were formed from decaying organic matter over millions of years (hence the term 'fossil fuels'). If the idea of an ancient earth is unbiblical and anathema to you, presumably you will want to boycott products that depend entirely on such ungodly assumptions, won't you?

The existence of fossil fuels aren't based on any assumptions whatsoever, and everybody agrees that they exist.

Since using them only requires agreeing that they exist (and that the burn well), it would be absolutely absurd to think that anyone would boycott gasoline based on logically unrelated disagreements.

As it happens, young-earth creationists agree BOTH with the notion that fossil fuels exist, AND with the notion that they are formed from buried organic matter.

The only things they might disagree with are how the organic matter came to be buried in the first place (most of it, creationists argue, was buried during Noah's flood), and how long it has been buried.

An assumption that turns out to be just that... nothing more than an assumption. Like fossils, stalactites and stalagmites, and rocks, it appears like the time it takes for oil to form has been greatly exaggerated.

Except that they probably believe god just stored oil there so they could use it.
