When I was LDS, I had other members telling me I wasn't supposed to drink Diet Cokes. I've been addicted to Diet Cokes since I was in my 20's. I pointed out to them that there was no prohibition against caffeine, just hot drinks. I also pointed out to them that hot cocoa was a hot drink, but they simply wanted to argue about it. I ignored them and drank diet cokes, but not hot cocoa.

Now I drink whatever I want.

Later prophets determined that when the Word of Wisdom said hot drinks, it was coffee and tea it was talking about. Why, we don't know.

Postum is ok, because it is made from roasted herbs and grains, which are good for you.

Mormonism is a religion fashioned after a machine. The leader speaks and the minions follow blindly like links in a chain.

I know of a Mormon that says they should not drink hot chocolate either because of the caffeine. (he does anyway. He is addicted to chocolate he says).

Why the **** would the temperature of a drink factor into a particular religion? Does god really care about that one time you had a really hot tea?!

In my opinion, I don't think you should let any invisible figment of your imagination and/or a man-made book tell you what you can and can't do.
