Why do the right wing republuican bigots keep talking about amnisty, when no amnisty was propoesed ?
Why do they have to tune into right wing nazi talk radio to find out what their opinion should bhe ?
Why are they such cowards, that they fear women and children because they happen to speak a different language?
Why, when all the facts point out that undocumented imagrants are actually a net gain for the economy, do they keep claiming they cost taxpayers money ?
Is it becuse the facts don't support their hate, fear and racism, so they have to spew lies to try to make their point ?
Is it that their parents were racist pigs who abused them and exposed tehm to hate and ignorance during ther childhoods ?
Or is it because they were raied in white trash tariler parks, and the fumes from the open sewers effected their brain function ?

Um probably not that bad, but I think you are on the right track. My uncle(Rep.) doesn't particularly like non white people, but won't come out and say it because it is not PC, like so many baby boomers whom I have now come to know better as an adult. As a bi-racial kid, was totally oblivious to racism until I was in my 20's. I think it is more of ethnocentric thinking that is scaring older Repulicans more than anything else. They want to go back to some kind of Norman Rockwell era that never really existed anyway.

Well, most parties are defined by their extremes. The relgious conservatives, the hard right, is against abortion. They want Roe v. Wade overturned. However, this won't make abortions illegal. It will throw the decision back to the states. It just removes the federal guarantee of a woman's right to abortion. The democrats, the hard left, is adamantly pro-choice. Don't want any definition of when life begins. Feel the woman should have the right to choose no matter what. As always, most people fall in the middle. Generally pro-choice, but willing to accept some restrictions on late term abortions. The parties end up being beholden to the "base" so they talk alot to placate them but usually end up doing not too much to address it. They know the majority of voters are more moderate in their views. The issue for this election is putting supreme court justices that may support an overturn of roe v. wade. There are 3 possible positions that will open up on the court, all of them more liberal leaning judges wanting to retire. So, whoever gets elected could either preserve the current balance or change the leanings of the court to a more conservative view. Probably why you hear the DNC call against fighting the Republican efforts to make the court conservative. If the Democrat wins, probably not much will change.

First of all, don't place the label of "Ignorant" just on republicans. Ignorance pervades every political stripe in this country!
Now for the illegal immigrant bill. When you have ANY law that prohibits an action such as immigrating without going through the proper channels, that law MUST NOT be waived. The bill that WAS being debated would have give legitimacy to the 12 million people who broke the law and entered the U.S. without obtaining permission to do so. That is in fact a form of amnesty.
The fact that they are here and able to remain here earning a livig DOES highlight the underlying problem. Employers! There are laws with harsh penalties already on the books for anyone who employs illegal immigrants. The problem is that these employers are NOT investigated or prosecuted in an effective manner.
Presecute the employers and the job market for illegal immigrants will dry up. Once that happens, illegal immigration will decrease though it will never go away completely.

Republicans have some good points about the issue. I disagree with some of them. I have no need to villify and demonize half the United States to prop up my ego to discuss the issue.

Hey big guy, why the hate? I believe both sides are wrong most of the time. You don't hear me calling people racist or other unfounded names. What I don't understand is why people belive what they are told. You talk about the lies put out by the right. If you haven't noticed they are in government, thats what they do. Besides, have you even read the bill? If not, do it, then form your own opinion.

I resent your comments. I am not a Republican, but I feel the same way about illegal immigrants. This is not just a Republican issue, it's an American issue. It also has nothing to do with race, so get over that part of it, it's not working anymore. Don't blame your mess on Republicans.

Whew! Most of the time, I'm on here asking Republicans to tone down the diatribe against Democrats. But it goes both ways. Sure, sometimes I get angry. But calling people names and flinging insults doesn't get us anywhere. If you really want to know why people oppose the immigration bill, ask. I'm sure you'll get at least a few thoughtful answers. Who knows, may even give you something to think about.
