No misspellings found.
Why do 90 per cent of people who answer questions never use the spell check?

I can think of two reasonable excuses for not using spell check in "Languages": anything not written in American English is questioned, so we English get frustrated when British spelling is questioned and many of the answers involve foreign languages, where pretty well every word is queried.

Maybe they do. I see lots of mistakes go right thru spell check without being caught.
I don't think the person who wrote the spell check program is a very good speller. It will let the word "gotcha" go thru, no problem. Yet, it will catch the word "Grandmother's" because it doesn't like the possessive apostrophe.
Many times, I see words that I know are wrong, yet they go right thru without a problem.

I know what you mean, but it would have something to do with people who can't be bothered. Laziness who don't want to make sure what is written is legible.
spell check is everywhere
in Microsoft word
here
email
blogging
but also people don't want to be bothered to do word changes
grammar
even if you spell the word right but says not in dictionary just ignore.

It's not just spell check though - people do not even read what they have written. I think that is why there are so many questions that get weirder answers than they might expect (and get my hackles up!!)

My spell check only works on the initial question. If you add details you're on your own.
Also, when answering, it won't pick up on her/here, their/there etc. because these words may be incorrect in context, but they are acceptable words in the English language.

Yes it is such a shame. Some people fail to read the question also!
One reason is that people naturally miss their own mistakes.
I sell check because I am such a bad speller!

Because they want to annoy the "nerds who care about the spelling and grammer (sic) of each question" according to another questionon here.

Poisonally I find I never need the spell check. I don't know why all the semi-literate people don't use it.
