Hmm. Some of you appear to have misread my question.
I didn't ask for a bunch of answers ridiculing Christianity nor did I ask for stories of conversion FROM Christianity.
Being a Christian myself since I was a child, and being raised in a Christian home, I was curious as to what kind of stories someone would have who was converted later in life. For instance, my Dad was converted at a magic show given by a Christian magician.
Thank you all for reading my question and giving me your answers, but now I'd like to see some answers to what I actually asked...
p.s. I am not a Christian merely because my parents are. I am a Christian because I have researched it, studied it, and I believe it makes sense. I also believe that I have felt God with me at various times.

I was when I was 12. I had become a freethinker and an Atheist then and my mother guilt tripped me until I diluted myself into believing in Christianity. I promised myself I would never again “turn away from god” but luckily when I became an adult, I started thinking for myself again. PHEW! That was a close one right? Seriously, I could have been a Christian for the rest of my life. I shudder at the thought.

Do you know that you can add why you ask or any comments you want as long as your question is on? I sure would like to know the purpose so I can know my purpose. Anyway, I can only hope this helps. I left churches when I couldn't work what they said. As long as I could make it work, I stayed. I got converted to the Bible from nothing from when they read psalms everyday before class and said the Lord's prayer a little. Later looking for answers, I naturally looked to what was respected and honored. Reading it got me into Christianity as the Bible standards seemed good and loving to me. Later I went to Atheism because of the churches unconvincing arguments and it not working, I guess. Then a JW gave me the logical explanations I needed and I came back. I came our of scientology too when I found our they taught I, or at least the leader, lived billions of years ago and some stuff unbelievable, to me, like we don't need any sleep. I have to guess that you are talking about a more radical change and how its difficulties. There are over 220 denominations termed major and 3,000 with three churches or more, not to mention the variations by each person. All seem to have something to offer and none seem to have all the truth, even put together. I find truth all over the globe, not just in organizations, but individual people also, as if we were meant to work together. The idea of a personal relationship with God also implies him working with who we are and differences we must have to be an individual. The spirit can be right there to help you with the many unique situations you have to deal with by the minute, some perhaps never to occur again. Hence the Bible and everything in the universe is a tutor up to God and not to be worshipped as that's idolatry. The prohecies are not for private interpretion exclusively by a person or organization for everyone else as that is closer to channeling as how can they know except through the spirit and God is too big for anyone to tell you everything you need to know anymore. A church can help for a while, but if you don't grow beyond one, as they don't seem to grow hardly at all, then I'm not sure that's growing fast enough for fast times. Just my read. I do believe the Bible is the book for accuracy, but "the letter kills." you need the spirit also.

I havent converted but I know people who have. One of the more intersting conversions that I heared of was of Cat Stevens who converted to Islam and of a preacher who converted to Islam (Yusuf Estes).
You can find more information how he converted to Islam on the following website:
http://islamtomorrow.com/yusuf.htm
Theres a lot more that I found interesting. Do a google search and you will receive a lot of results. Also there are a lot of interesting videos on youtube.

I was raised going to church but my parents are not believers.
So I went from assuming that I was a Christian to actually being a follower of Christ.
This came about with an interest in Bible prophecy, attending a Bible study and reading through the Bible. I saw clearly that I needed a Savior and received Christ as Lord and Savior. That was about 16 years ago. Haven't looked back.
How about you?

I did the opposite and converted from Christianity to Pagan. I think however the reasons are probibly the same in any conversion. The beliefs you had were no longer working for you.

I converted from agnosticism at age 20. I'm 39 now. What provoked the change was seeing hell during a near-death experience.
