The carpet is beige and the walls are a very light beige.

I really like dark furniture and artwork(black, blue, brown, mocha, etc.) but I just want my room to look as good as can be with that set carpet and walls. Thanks for your responses!

With a light background pallette you can do just about anything but if you want to warm it up a bit, browns are a good choice with a splash of red. Get a rug for the floor that draws in your colors, and build your other fabrics around that. If you want to break a light wall, find a tapestry to hang and also add texture and warmth.

Blue would be a very good choice. Take a look at the paint color circle (what color goes with what) at your paint store or online. If you have animals then brown flecked or squares of brown and other colors would be good an won't show dirt. I don't know about black tho. Dark furniture always looks good.
