My hair is dry, puffy, and frizzy. I used to wash it once a week as a kid and it wasn't puffy, if was nice and smooth and shiny. Recently I just started washing it once a day and now it is pretty darn ugly with kinks and puffy-ness. Do you have any hair scheduling suggestions about how often i should wash my hair?

hi. well my hair is that way too. im used to washing it everyday but ive found that doesnt help the 'poof'. so heres what i say:
wash it every other day with good shampoo and conditioner. never brush your hair when its wet..always comb it with a wide toothed comb.
when wet apply a hair serum that helps control your hair. then what i do is wrap my hair in a warm damp towel, let it sit for 10 minutes, unwrap it and then let it air dry. i hope this works for you because it works for me. hopefully your poof goes away!!!!

Tip from a hairdresser:

Get a really good conditioner but when you put it on, your hair should be towelled dry...not wet. Putting conditioner on wet hair is about as effective as applying lotion to wet hands.

Next, when you were a kid you probably were healthier. As you get older your hair changes because your nutrient intake might be substandard. Take fax, silica and gelatin to strengthen your hair.

As to washing, wash whenever necessary. Conditioning is the key on the outside. Also, switch shampoos and conditioners to avoid build up which can leave hair frizzy and fly-away.

I suggest not washing your hair everyday. I was mine about once ever 2-3 days. If not you was out the natural oils that calm your hair down a bit.

I wash mine once every other day or so. But to me it sounds like you have either naturally curly or wavy hair. When I want the curl to look nice in mine, I just use conditioner on it and forget the shampoo. I read this in a book titled "Curly Girls" and it works well.

This sounds funny, but seriously, only wash your hair when its dirty. If it needs to be washed everyday, invest in a good conditioner. That will help with the frizzies.

My hairdresser always told me to not wash your hair everyday. It eliminates your natural oils in your hair and totally messes it up. Try every other day. Like Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. =]

Either every other day or every 3 days. Mine is dry and frizzy and that works for me. Any longer it gets oily and gross.

Every other day. That's what I do. Mine gets frizzy/dry too.

Twice a week. I have curly/wavy hair, and it's colored too, and I only wash it twice a week...
