If you choose a flavored soda you like...just mix it with the cake mix, make sure you don't make it soupy...then BAM...you have a nice tasty treat.

The only cake you could make without butter might be a sponge or angel food cake. Any other cake made without butter will be too dry to eat tomorrow.

You can substitute an equal amount of applesauce or canned pumpkin for the butter or oil in most cake recipes.
