This is the same day Homeland Security Chief and Pro-Amnesty supporter Michael Chertoff said this:
“We’re going to continue to enforce the law. It’s going to be tough,” Michael Chertoff said. “We don’t really have the ability to enforce the law with respect to illegal work in this country in a way that’s truly effective.”
We get this:
Nine Hudson County residents have been picked up in a number of recent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweeps that captured 131 people, including a Dominican national with a criminal record living in Kearny, officials said.
During June, ICE fugitive operations teams fanned out across the state to capture 71 criminal and fugitive non-documented residents, and during the investigations also arrested 60 other people who were in the county illegally, said Adam Puharic, spokesman for the Newark ICE office.
Among the criminals caught was Ricardo Anthony Rondon, 31, of Kearny, a Dominican national who has a 2000 conviction for drug possession with intent to distribute, and a 2002 conviction for aggravated assault, Puharic said.
Our 2 Liberal Senators from New Jersey voted to give criminals like Ricardo immediate freedom and citizenship in this Country had that travesty of a Shamnesty bill passed.

A few years ago a local peach grower hired a bunch of illegal to help pick peaches. He provided them with free housing as well as payment in cash. There weren't enough of them, so he hired local adults, teens and college kids as well, paid by check with taxes deducted. Halfway through the season, the records kept by the picking crew foremans showed conclusively that the locals and college kids actually were picking more peaches than the illegal aliens. An average of 9% more.Logs were kept of how many were picked by each picker as they were paid by the bushel.
The locals and college kids didn't ruin his rental houses either. He stopped hiring illegals and migrant workers after that failed venture. They were all fired shortly after the foremans made their report. One of the illegals drew a knife on a foreman over the report.
Too many of these illegal aliens are criminally minded.

What exactly is the question here? This seems more like a statement.I'm not saying your wrong or anything, just wondering. Is it that illegal immigrants are taking jobs that Americans do/don't want?
I'll point out in regard to this that these are jobs that Americans would be happy to do. But since they're illegal, the employers offer them below minimum wages and no insurance/job protection which the illegals happily take. As a result, there's a whole job market out there that Americans can't, won't and SHOULDN'T work in, because the whole situation is just...criminal.
If employers would stop doing the illegal practice of hiring illegals, and illegals would stop taking these jobs, then a whole job market would open up for Citizens who are in desperate need of jobs. Legal jobs, with a fair wage and appropriate protections.

We all know this isn't true. They are taking any job they can. Employers are hiring them even though they know their paperwork is a sham. Look at that cop. He had taken the identity of his deceased cousing when he was in high school so that he could claim he was here legally. He was a cop. No more needs to be said.

I dont get it myself when they make statements like they do not have enough manpower to enforce the laws. Who is going out following and ticketing people with fireworks? Please there are more important issues to take on than fireworks. My feeling is if someone wants to take the risk of blowing their hand off let them let's enforce the immigration laws and keep employers from hiring these people first of all. If they can't make money here they will go back.
Why are they not rallying against their own stinkin goverment they can take the time to rally here cant they?

The bill would have opened a way to citizenship. NOT a guarantee of citizenship. It is policy that those convicted of a crime of moral turpitude which assault would be, are denied citizenship. Even those here legally can be deported for crime.
Get your facts straight.

The problem with the illegal immigrants lies in the US and not in Mexico, or Latin American as a whole or with the poor people trying to improve their lives.
The problem and the culprit is US industry, Wal-Mart, US farms and almost assuredly someone in your family or living on your block.
The same problem exists in the so called drug war. That problem is called DEMAND.
If you want the drugs and the illegal aliens to stop flooding across the borders...stop employing illegal’s and consuming drugs.
All of us Americans, of all economic levels and all races and religions are so 'cultured' to blame someone else that we never take responsibility when it can possibly be shifted to someone else.
Best Regards.
