In a word, Yes! Seabees do travel all over the world. They are currently in places like Guam, Japan, Okinawa, Palau, Vietnam (yes, I said Vietnam!), Europe, and also Iraq and Afghanistan.

I assume you have just enlisted; if so, you will likely go to A school, Sheppard AFB in Texas for CE's, after boot camp, and then to one of the Construction Battalions (NMCB). While in battalion, you deploy about 6 months and are back home for about 12 months. This is approximate right now with everything going on in the world, but pretty close.

Please don't think that just because you joined the Navy you will not be living in a tent. The Seabees are designed to support Marines. That means living in tents at times. That being said, during a deployment other than to a war zone, the accommodations are pretty good and the life isn't to bad.

SEABEEs rarely deploy on ships; they tend to get flown to their destination for deployment. I have come across few SEABEEs that have been in the Navy for nearly 20 years and still have never been inside of a ship. Many different countries; some of them, you have never heard of or want to go (have you heard of Djibouti ?). In general, not really. But EA (Engineering Aid) may have to use more math than others.

while Seabees are not assigned to sea duty, they do deploy frequently. Expect at least one tour to Iraq or Afghanistan before your first term is up.
