If this is a boston terrier, I beleive that's too much chocolate. I would give her a teasp of hydrogen peroxide so she vomits. Friend had an airedale who ate a box of fancy chocolates and died.
Good luck.

(What a waste of Oreos.)

It would depend on the actual cocoa content of the cookie. I think it's mostly artificial garbage anyway. He may, however, get sick with the runs and vomiting (due to the sugar content). Otherwise, he should be just fine.

The real problems come in with actual chocolate. Worst of all would be baking chocolate. With a high content of a chemical (can't remember the name of it) but is will shut down the kidney function amongst other problems.

Hope I have helped.
Enjoy your day!

Oh and the chemical is theobromine that is the chemical that causes the harm.

"Considering that the average chocolate bar contains 2-3 oz of milk chocolate, it would take 2-3 candy bars to produce toxicity in a 10 lb dog."

There is NOT that much in half a pack or oreos!

You can give your dog chocolate but not to much. It depends what where talking about a half of a big oreo pack or a half of those mini packs. If it's a mini pack there's nothing to worry about but if it is a half of the big back your dog could be in trouble. Get him checked at a vet just to be safe good luck.

Call a vet now. If she's a small dog, this can hurt her more.
If you can't get a hold of a vet, (I know it can be hard to find one that's open because it's a holiday) you need to induce vomiting. Force a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide down her throat. No, this will not poison her. There will be a bubble reaction inside her that will cause her to throw everything up, including the peroxide. Just be sure to keep her in a room that's easy to clean, like a hard-floor bathroom.

Once our dog ate 3 lbs. of our Easter candy (foil & all). we called our vet & they told us to give him some peroxide to make him vomit...and boy did he ever. Chocolate is not good for them. Being today is a holiday, I would call a vet ER & see what they say. Just in case, better to be safe than sorry.

It takes 1 lb of chocolate to kill a 12 llb dog. The oreos probably wont hort. Watch for hyper activith, anxiosness, nervosness. If you see these signs the dog my be hyperglycemic and needs veterinary help .

Hi there,
I think your dog is going to be ok, she just may be either constapated or may simply have diarrhea. To avoid accidents at home, let your dog out twice as much as normal for the next couple days.
If your dog shows signs of horrible stomach ache, please take him/her to your local vet immediatley.
Good Luck!

Oreos shouldn't hurt your dog as long as they weren't the really chocolately ones. dogs can't really have dark chocolate.

If you still aren't sure ask your vet.

Keep an eye on her. My dog did the same thing and she is alright. But my dog is a yellow lab and she is very wierd ....seems to handle things differently than my other dogs.

If you're really worried, you could try to give her a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to help her vomit up the cookies, then she should feel a lot better.

Or she might be just fine. That's an awful lot of cookies, though.
