I have told a lie occasionally when the lie has seemed to be kinder than the truth but by my own standards it was the wrong thing to do. I wouldn't confess to the lie later if it was going to hurt somebody. Truth for truth's sake can be hurtful and cruel. Also I could never lie habitually as my memory isn't good enough. Lol!

Yes. It is good to confess to the one you lied to. I think that they will respect you for it, even though they may not like the lie. However, we MUST confess what we did to GOD!!!

GOD bless

I've lied and not confessed. I'm still alive, so I don't think it's that big of a deal

Matthew 5: 23 "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to that person; then come and offer your gift.

It is better to reconcile with the offended person first, then reconcile with God.

Good Question... Read this book "Total Forgiveness" by R.T. Kendall.. You have to ask for forgiveness from both God and the person you lied to.

Hello

I believe it is important to come clean to who we wronged. But if we can't come face to face with each other as long as we are sincere to God and change our heats and the way we live that's what is really important. It's not who we are inside but what we do that realy defines us.

It's ok to do anything you want to. As long as you repent in the end you still get a ticket to heaven.

You will be a christian. They can do as they like and then just ask for forgiveness from an imaginary friend. Pretty convenient.

The bible doesn't say it is a sin to lie. The bible says it is a sin to lie under oath (bear false witness).
