It sounds like an anal abscess or thromboses hemorrhoid or maybe even a fistula. Take 2/3 hot baths a day about 20 minutes each. Take some Advil or Motrin for pain. and get to your Dr. for a diagnosis. A fistula could make a tunnel where feces can exit the body somewhere other than the rectum.

My guess would be either a hemorrhoid or a peri-rectal abscess or fistula-in-ano.
If you have a fever, go to an urgent care center or ER, otherwise see a doctor after the holiday.
Try a pain killer like Tylenol and soak in hot water, about 100 degrees F. in the meantime. If it is an abscess, it will probably have to be drained. Hemorrhoids often shrink over time, but not always to the point that they are not bothersome.

it might be a boil which you will have to go get drained by a doctor. not sure of what causes them. my cousin had one and he screamed like a schoolgirl when he got it drained.
