1. Paradise is on Earth

As there is no afterlife your current existence is as good as it gets!

2. You can define your own morality structures

Well this is a double entendre in that this promotes imorality

3. A willingness to make huge gambles

Many very intelligent and well educated atheists have come to believe in God, not through leaps of faith, but by well thought out deductive reasoning.

Each and everyone of us has an imortal soul - and if you have any doubt about this, you just need to see the corpse of someone that you knew alive - unlike the movies that person is not asleep, he or she is simply not there.

If you consider it even remotely possible that you have a soul, then do a simple cost benefit analysis: You have 3 score years and ten on earth and an eternity to face once you leave here.

Look at the best case/ worst case scenarios and no matter what the probabilities are, you do not want to be exposed to the worst case

I am an atheist. I am sure many atheists have many beliefs. The thing is, they don't need to be the same, in order to be an atheist.

The only thing one has to do to be an atheist is: not have any beliefs in god/s.

Other beliefs can and will differ amongst the atheist population. It is not a religion, or a set of beliefs. It is one unbelief. That's it.

Atheism is not a negative view, and it is not against the bible which has strong comfort and help for many. In a positive way it believes in evolution of a world created by the phisics of the universe. Atheists believe that the end of life ends in a finality. Thirdly they believe that judgment on ones actions are by ones own conscience and fellow man.

By belief, I understand that to mean believing in something with no evidence. In which case, no, I don't think I do. If you mean believing in things for which there is evidence, you can count pretty much all of reality in your top three.

Atheists believe there are no gods and it ends there. There are no protestant subdivisions of Atheism or elaborate stories allegedly proving gods have died or anything else. They can't prove it any more than Theists can prove there are gods or a god. It is a faith. A credible but, ultimately, unreasonable and vain faith.

The truly pragmatic disposition is Agnostic which asserts the nature of god or gods is unknowable and it's not good when people talk about things they don't know anything about.

I know a atheist and he believes, that a man should work hard for his family, and bring them up to the best of his ability.
He doesn't believe in God, but he does not stop his wife and children, going to Church
and his children are a credit to him.
