if the load is resistive (R) and connected in series with a coupling/blocking capacitor (C), the size of the capacitor determines the low frequency cut-off (RC). for general audio and video work, the product of R times C should be greater than 33 milliseconds.

If you are using capacitors to correct power factor, the larger the capacitor, the greater the correction. Up to the point of a power factor of one, of course.
