Every time I want to open something it says A program needs your permission to continue. I always press continue and it works. Is there a way to make that stop popping up.

USER ACCOUNT CONTROL:
control panel--user accounts--turn UAC off--continue--uncheck use user account control

now, every time you boot up,there will be a warning that you've turned this thing off but...it's only at boot time,no other.
looking for a way to kill this and if i find it,i'll add it to this note.

Using MsConfig System Configuration

1. Run MsConfig from Run option.
2. In System Configuration window, click on the Tools tab.
3. Scroll down and locate “Disable UAP” or “Disable UAC” option item. Click on that line.
4.Click the Launch button.
5. A command prompt window will open and automatically execute and run certain process to disable UAC.
6.Close CMD window when done.
7.Close Msconfig.
8.Restart computer for changes to apply and effective.
9.To re-enable UAC, simply select “Enable UAP” or “Enable UAC” instead of “Disable UAP” or “Disable UAC”, and then click on Launch button

Note: After disable and turn off UAC, a little red X shield icon of Windows Security Center comes out in the notification area. Here’s the way to get rid of the icon and notifications.
# If you can see the Security Center shield icon in the notification area, simply double click on the icon to open Windows Security Center. Else, click on Windows Start button, select Control Panel, and then Windows Security Center.
# Click on “Change the way Security Center alerts me” link in the left pane in Windows Vista. In Windows XP, it’s located under Resources section.
# In Windows Vista, choose either “Don’t notify me, but display the icon” or “Don’t notify me and don’t display the icon” option, with later as complete disable of all Security Center Alerts.

In Windows XP, a Alert Settings dialog box will appear. Clear the Firewall, Automatic Updates, and/or Virus Protection check boxes to disable the respective component’s alert, and then click OK.

There should be something under system settings which allows you to turn it off! If you cant find it, try the help facility.
