Ah, don't focus on the numbers. Focus on the goals of the things that will get you to the numbers. How much water should you have a day. It's summer, so you can spend a little more time working out. Bump your exercise up to an hour per day for the summer. Tennis is good, swimming is good, walking and riding your bike. Set goals for how far you'll go. Instant gratification when you get there. Each day that you don't have any candy or chips or fast food is another pat on the back. When you find yourself heading for the kitchen (other than to fix a planned meal or planned snack), grab a drink of water ... and nothing else ... and go do a few stretches. And give yourself a pat on the back.
My latest 'trick' is to substitute carbonated water (i.e. Perrier, Talking Waters, Pellegrino, etc.) for soda pop.
Soda, cola, etc. even diet (some say especially diet) are real diet killers. And Perrier is so chic!

Hello stunninglyts.
When it comes to losing weight, everyone is different. Losing 25lbs in 2 months may or not be realistic or healthy. However, I'm sure someone will say it can be done. Check with your family doctor first, once given the ok , seek advice from a nutritionist. Having lost 20lbs myself in 31/2 months, the key points were as follows: Portions (not so much diet) but, cutting my portion size down to filling me up instead of cleaning my plate as taught when we were young. I eat 6 small meals a day. (ie. an apple is considered a meal). Metabolism has a lot to do with it. (We are what we eat) Watch the sugar intake as well.
Excercise is a must-do. It is important to be consistant and honest with yourself, no matter what plan you choose. Wishing you the best of luck...juscurious

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.
