Why is it that I only ever see "Christians" or "Jehovah's witnesses" (or any other religion based on the bible) traveling round trying to convert people or shouting from street corners etc?
why are the buddists never telling us about Budda or Sikh's telling us about Vāhigurū?

Because they dont shove their religion in other people's faces,even those who are uninterested, unlike christianity.Christians believe that its their birth-right in their religion to do that,and they do it with a kind of authority and pompous attitude thats really sickening.

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "recruit" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!
That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.
(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Jews (whose religion is, of course, bible based) don't recruit others to become Jewish. We believe that others *can* become Jewish, but don't have to. Instead, we believe that all mankind is bound by seven basic laws, called the "Noachide Laws" since they apply to all the descendants of Noah, that is, all people.

Osama Bin Ladin (sp?) He tells everyone about his religion in a huge way. He shouts to the world - not just the street corners. He preaches that we are all infidels and that his religion is the ONLY one. He teaches that the Koran gives him the right to do what he is doing now. I would say that is a pretty huge conversion method.

Some religions have a mandate that their adherents must go out and proselytize, as with many of the Christian denominations. Other religions believe that people will eventually find their way to enlightenment, like Buddhism.

Some, who don't recruit, are busy observing islamoNazis exploding Christians, Jews, Buddists et al, and proselytizing on our streets, from mosques, and in our prisons. [About which, all -ALL - islamoNazis in prison, now and in the future, MUST be islolated from the general populations- to prevent more proselytization.

because christianity is the only religion with the message of salvation. that includes all the denominations.

well, they think there saveing you from hell they think you dont ecsept jesus you will be going to hell in my personal opinon i think thats true.
