Yes foundation can block tan, but only if it has a good SPF in it! I guess most have about a 15 SPF.
Keep the sun off your face! Use fake tan unless you want to end up looking like a crocodile handbag!!!

Yes it can. Apparently your foundation has some protection built in which is a good thing. If you want your face coloring to appear tan, there are some very good self tanning daily moisturizers on the market. Avon has one such product and there's Jergens natural Glow daily Moisturizer. Just be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after using them so that your next question isn't how to get rid of orange palms.

yes but the foundation will act a little as a sunscreen. tanning is very bad for you however especially on your face[where you dont want wrinkles!] so try using a product like Jergens Natural Glow Face. It works great as long as you pick the right tone for you and blend well!

It's possible that it is diffusing some of the sun rays from your face but the best way to protect your skin is to use makeup that has SPF in it.

this is ultimate to no longer placed any makeup on while happening a tanning mattress...the dissimilar oils & pigments in the makeup ought to react to the warmth and additionally block the pores on your epidermis... Can think of putting on a SPF moisturiser before could be a reliable concept tho....

You can still get a tan. But I would think you would have bigger chances of getting burned if you don't wear SPF... =/

It will make your face have small random splotches... they are small and white, so its better to tan with no make up on at all.
