When you sneeze your heart stops for a very very short moment. You say "God bless you" b/c God has made your heart start working again. Otherwise you would have died.

It is an old Irish superstition that when you sneeze and your heart stops for that one millisecond, the deons can steal your soul. So, you say God Bless You to scare those demons away.

Because in the superstitious Old days, people believed that when you sneezed your soul could escape from your body and be stolen by the devil or something. So, they said "God Bless You" in order to protect your soul.

Because supposly your suppose to be letting out the "Devil" and "Evil Spirits" that were inside you. I had a world religions class, and cant remember which religion it was, but thats why they say "God Bless You" after you sneeze.

because that's the closes you come to dieing before you actually die.your heart stops beating.when the saying first started after you sneeve people would make sure your heart started again,they would say god blessed you.over the years now people just say god bless you.
