It's stupid. Why would you fly someone else's flag on the 4th of July? The 4th of July celebrates America's independence from Britain. It's like putting up Halloween decorations at Christmas time. It doesn't detract from the holiday -- you just look like an idiot. Why not fly whatever country's flag you want on a day that is important to THAT country? That's when it would have significance.

It is definitely disrespectful to fly another flag in this country, especially on the country's birthday, as it were. Freedom of speech is covered here, but I would hope one would be respectful of the freedoms they are afforded while living here and refrain from doing so.

It's disrespectful when someone flies or waves another nation's flag while spouting Anti-American sentiments. That is offensive to most Americans.
If a Finnish immigrant flew the Finnish flag, alone or beneath the US flag, I would understand. Finland recognizes the 4th of July as a national holiday as well.
It is the intent of the use that may be disrespectful.

It's not disrespectful if the both flags are flown at the same time and the American Flag is flown higher than the other. It has nothing to do with freedom of speech - there is no discussion involved with flag flying.

It is totally disrespectful and DIS-honors our military and our founding fathers...
If any of you hate America so bad that you would even consider flying some other flag on July 4th, then by all means, pack your stuff, and move to another country, and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out!

Yes. Why would anyone display another country's flag on
USA independence day. It is disrespectful and an act of
the utmost rudeness to the country which accepted a man's
desire to be an American citizen. It does not encompass
the essence of freedom of speech, but rather a sign of
disrespect on the majority of Americans who wish to
honor and commemorate their of independence.

It is disrespect protected by the laws that govern freedom of speech. Same with flying another countries flag above the U.S. flag, and flying the U.S. flag upside down. Someone here is flying the flag upside down. I think we should get a mob of protesters together and go make them take it down! And if they won't, help them pack their stuff and escort them out of town!

You may fly whatever flag you wish whenever you want to.
There are rules of decorum for the timing of flying the US flag and the placement of it.
Only thought is that you're sending out a message that your neighbors will remember for a long time.
