help me please i don't know what's wrong with me. I'll try not to ramble but so anyway here it is:
1. I never feel i can do anything so i don't try cuz i tell myself whats the point if you can't do it? like i don't try in school because i don't think i can get good grades so i don't try even though i manage C's and B's and even a couple of A's anyway, but i'm failing math because i really believe i can't do it. And i've always wanted to write a novel so now i'm writing one and i've gotten really far into it but i think its a crappy novel so i want to quit and that happens with everything. Should i finish the novel just to prove i can? or is it a waste of time?
2. I never talk because i really do think there's no point because no one cares how i feel or what i think and i don't want to bother them with my dumb feelings
3. whenever i look into the mirror i always think and tell myself how stupid and ugly and worthless i am
4. i hate to eat because i feel i don't deserve it

You need to see a professional.... don't worry about anyone else.. this is important for YOU....

Also.. you did know that if you see a therapist.. counselor.. what ever.. they BY LAW can not disclose ANYTHING you talk about.. to ANYONE.... heck they can't even SAY if your a paitent of theirs.... soo no one even needs to know your seeing someone....

There is something far more going on here than a self esteem issue.... please please please seek professional help AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Well, just as you say, you have convinced yourself you "can't do anything", so of course you hate everything you do. I can tell you that , just as I told someone else here, that the MEDIA is largely responsible for making us feel like we are "never good enough". Advertising is based on making us feel bad about ourselves so that we will be compelled to buy whatever it is they are selling to 'remedy' our 'problem" when in fact there may not even BE a problem! This psychic pressure is tremendous, and you can be SURE that a very great deal of what you feel about yourself is a RESULT of being exposed to this invidious influence! The only solution will come when people "just say NO" to the media and start thinking for themselves. You must take a more conscious route to self-awareness. One of the best ways is to reduce your exposure to media by saying NO to television, and pursuing interests that do not involve exposure to such things. Women, especially, are the targets of this media 'brainwashing", you must be PRO-ACTIVE in your own liberation from this influence. Read more books and watch less TV. Sing your OWN SONGS instead of listening to those of others. Make your OWN music instead of listening to others play it. Writing is an excellent activity and very therapeutic; keep at it! Even if this one isn't 'the" novel, you can think of it as 'good practice!" If you are already getting Bs and Cs and a few As then only a very small amount of effort will bring your grades up and prove to you that you CAN do it! It's true, math is something of a drag, but just ask for help from the teacher, and dodge the failing grade. Progress is made one step at a time, and don't forget, teenagehood doesn't last forever!

First of all you are not worthless, OK! I have had the same feelings and everyone is better at some things than others, math might not be your strong point's and writing might be. I do think you need to seek a counselor to talk to and no-one really needs to know unless you are under 18 and then your parent's will know but they probably won't say anything to people as it is best for you. My counselor points out my stronger points and helps me understand that I am a good person and that I am not so strong in other areas but I am really good in the listening and giving information department to my friends and people who are in need of a helpful shoulder or bit of comforting advise. I don't think it is good for you to think this way at all and don't give up on your novel, it will show you that you are a strong person to finish it and that, that could most definitely be your stronger areas. Good Luck and i am always just a click away if you need anyone to talk to......

Your description makes me think that at first you are depressed. I always feel that way when i am having a bout with depression. Like I am taking up space or something.

Ultimatley you should go to a dr and have them diagnose you so you can get the correct treatment. You can tell your regular dr, you do not have to go to a shrink for treatment.
But if you are worried about ridicule, then you may want to develop a friendship with a local religious leader (yours if you have one) they can act as counselors, and may be able to direct you to the right private agancies.

Yes, write the novel. Doing things just to prove that you can are very healthy actions. Challenging yourself to do better is a good thing.

There are no instant cures for depression. Anti-depressants do work some, but they are not cures. Counseling should be you first move to see if it makes you feel any better.
But it is a chemical unbalance in your brain, somethng that you did not cause, something that happens to more people than you will ever know.

to me it sounds like you think you have never done anything good in your life. (i am sure that isnt true.) i think you quit alot becuse of that sentence above this one. did anyone make you feel like this like when you were a kid or something? that might have started this. my soulution for some of this(for instance the novel) is that you should find a reason why you want-no why you NEED- to finish this or get higher grades , or even to eat. i have to do this sometimes cuz i feel worthless a lot to. My reason is that i NEED to prove that i can become something that other people will love(i know, pathetic right?)

hope this helps, im sorry if i rambled.

There are self-help books on developing self-esteem. It is better to get help from a counselor to have someone to talk out your feelings and thoughts with. You are picking on your brother because of this. Everyone is good at something, but they aren't good at everything. Find what your good at at. Things change with time, but work on it. You can be a good person. Try to help people out - that will lift your self-esteem! Good luck and peace be with you!

It's more than a self-esteem issue. It's psychological and depression.

You NEED to get professional help. It's the ONLY way to help you. Don't worry about people making fun of you. They can't if they don't know about it.

PLEASE get help now. You won't live to see 20 if you don't. I know.

Your symptoms sound like clinical depression. See a doctor, its confidential, so noone will know.
