It's a virtue because, if you have faith, you will believe without evidence that sheepish obedience and repression of your natural sexual urges are also virtues...

Faith is not a virtue, nor is it belief. In addition virtue is mostly a pagan concept; even divided by sex. (See source).

Faith is a human spiritual ability. Belief is simply any idea or concept one is willing to act upon. You used belief to write your question.

Faith is not belief without evidence and belief is not a synonym for faith in every case; although most critics and many Christians seem to think so.

Faith is also not a subscription to a body of ideas, creeds or opinions. It's primary function, as a human spiritual ability, should not be confused with its use as a bureaucratic label. The 'faith label' is used to describe cultures or institutions built around various forms of religious government and worship.

Faith like belief is an ability; faith being a spiritual ability and belief a mental ability. Faith, the spiritual ability, cannot be exercised without first having a word from God. God counts faith as righteousness; and that also has nothing to do with virtue.

Virtue is actually more of a pagan concept. It is somewhat foreign to Christianity, except as a quality of God's power. Before a holy God, we are sinners with no virtue. As it is written; There is none good save God.

Faith is not necessarily belief without evidence, it is more just having extreme trust in someone or something, and having trust in the ultimate being is certainly a virtue.

Your question is flawed. Faith is not belief without evidence. Faith is making a conclusion based on the evidence that you have, and acting as if it were true.

For example, when you sit down in a chair, you are exercising faith. You believe, based on the evidence of your senses, that it will support your weight, so you sit in it.

Would you just randomly sit down into thin air, not having seen a chair, not having felt it? Of course not!

Since we cannot see GOD, we have faith that HE is there. The evidence is subtle, barely noticeable. It is a virtue because GOD gives us the things that we need by faith. These statements may sound hard to believe, but, this is why faith exists.

GOD bless

The big bang requires faith, since they do not know what started it all.

You tell me.

There is evidence you just don't want to see it.

If God showed up in your house and showed you miracles beyond belief you would still deny him.

The bible says you will be glorified/blessed by faith.
" BLESSED ARE THEY THAT SEE AND BELIEVE AND MORE BLESSED ARE THEY THAT DON'T SEE AND BELIEVED."
