My computer is very low on memory and I'm having a hard time with my printer. It won't scan a document anymore. I do have a program called Act which I don't use anymore and was wondering if I took it off my computer, would that give me enough memory to make it worthwhile. Should I just remove the contact info or the whole thing including the program itself. I hate to go out and buy a new computer- Don't know if buying an external drive would help me.

I have copied the contact info onto a CD as a backup.

That's hard to say. Do you mean disk or RAM? If you mean RAM, unless ACT has a part that remains in RAM all the time, it wouldn't help. If you mean disk, go to Add or Remove Programs and see if there's a remove package there for it.

To get to Add or Remove Programs,

1. Click on the Start->Control Panel menu item.
2. Click on Add or Remove Programs.

Good luck.

Download Advanced Windows Care V2 Personal from
http://www.iobit.com
Use all the options. From start up list uncheck max programs which you don't need.
Look under tools Memory cleaner . Make it resident program.
Para two : When you want to do a printing job close all other running programs
A general cleaning of the Registry also will help
