I am a member of the Covenant of the Goddess here in the Bay Area and am a member of Diana's fellowship affectionately known as "Spiral" in Berkeley, CA. I know her from some rituals at Spiral, and she is a fantastically down to earth person. She has done a lot of writing, and her sister in law (I'm pretty sure) was Marion Zimmer Bradley, as you know, the author of Mists of Avalon.
Diana is a great advocate on behalf of all Pagans, Wiccans, Witches, etc. My opinion about her article is that it is wonderful and right on and I am always happy to see main stream publications publish something bringing the idea of paganism out into the light so people can see that we are not evil or weird. the more exposure we get as being real nice and normal people, the better.
Blessings,

It is nice to seen something in the papers about Pagans and Wiccans. What is interesting is how many papers or television news sources reported the original breaking of the VA Pentacle story?
The breaking of that story would have stirred up more interest and told more about this country's two-faced religious freedom. That was why it didn't go to trial. It was easier and better to keep it quiet than to let the world know that Christianity in America is a driving force within our government. This can also explain why the Muslims in the Middle East think that we are trying to spread Christianity under the guise of Democracy!
I step down from my soapbox now!

Pretty. It's nice to see that something is finally moving over there. That still doesn't take it away from the fact that it's an expression of arrogance instead of tolerance. God/Gods/Goddesses bless America? Why ever America over all the rest of the world? What's there that's so special, again? Higher percentage of fundies than somewhere else?

It gives an accurate account of our plight. I like the article. Thanks for sharing. I have a dream and that dream is to see a day when us pagans and Wiccans can wear our symbols of faith as publicly without ridicule as Christians. I dream of a day when we can openly worship without persecution and harassment.

I could give it a standing ovation. Beautiful. A step toward the equality of all that the Atheists have been fighting for.

Woo, that's great. But, then again, I've come to expect that sort of thing from her.
