Why would it be? I live in Arkansas but support the NY Jets.

Personal choice...that's what freedom's all about.

Nice question and deserving of a star too, in my opinion. British citizens of Indian descent, largely cheer the Indian cricket team during a India-England cricket match being played in the UK. At least that is the impression I get when I watch any such match on TV sitting here in India. If this act of support comes spontaneously, it must originate from the Indians' unseverable bond to their native roots which finds expression during such a sports contest. India is never out of their minds and souls even while living thousands of miles away. However, to the thinking Indian, it must come as a moral dilemma. As citizens of the UK, their patriotism or any show for it, should ideally be for the UK. But such logical thinking is temporarily swept away by love for the land of their origin. That the British people are more or less unconcerned with such things goes to prove the existence of real people's freedom and rights in that country. I'm left to wonder how Indians in Britain would behave in a hypothetical situation where India and the UK went to war with each other. If I were a citizen of the UK, I would expect the obligations of the UK born Indians to be with the UK. That's as good or as bad as it can be.

It is not bad for Indians born in the UK to support India in cricket matches against England. Indians are the only team in the World who are thorough sportsmen in and off the field. Did you know this? This is a universal fact. Any Indian would and must cheer India up! No second thoughts !

Yes , it is really BAD , all the more , if these people are citizens of UK - in a way it is "gaddari" - but one cannot control the emotions and may be now these people are NRIs , they cannot forget their motherland and most of all the humilation we Indians had by Britishers - that feeling overcomes and one starts supporting India .

I think it is very natural , it can be with anyone , like Italians or French or any one else now staying in India for years - always cheer their always cheer their side.

No one should feel about it , we are all the same.

he tries his best to thrash them.If i watch India play
other country's i support those lads but not against England.

I greatly appreciate your point.
In India when Pakistan wins, Muslims are happy and seem to celebrate. In Kashmir there is a great jubilation.
When India wins I feel happy; and West Indies wins, I congratulate my fiance and feel happy in doing so. So it is a win- win situation. The best course would be to feel happy that a better team has won and it is the game that is winner.

yes and no both
it is natural for them or anyone to feel greater sentiment for their motherland and it could definitely be extremely irritating because it shows blatantly that u are just a foriegner here and have been thinking about england as just a foriegn place.
i remember a lot of indians feel bad when they see a particular sect of indian people cheering for pakistan team.
