I'm not a catholic, so I don't know the rules, but I'd bet that pissing in the holy water would do the trick.

Next time you go to a catholic church in the middle of th service stand up with a funny look on your face, walk to the aisle making sure not to genuflect to the statues or making the sign of the cross to the false doctrine of the trinity. Then walk down the aisle with that same funny look on your face. When you get to the door refuse the so called "holy water" shut the door and never go back in. Now you are officially excomuligated. Now you are free to find the true God and His Son Jesus Christ. This is what I did. Leaving the catholic church was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Why do you even need to bother getting excommunicated?
Just choose another church or just don't go. You can worship on your own. Just don't loose what you have obtained already. I know you feel disgruntled now but maybe later you may wish to return if things get better. Sorry the church now seems like not the place to be but don't give up on God just because of a couple poor examples. Pray for the church and seek another place. If there is a dead man in the pulpit, get out of the church.

Just call a priest. He will give you the necessary paperwork to fill out and send it off to the pope, and of course is should be free. Except maybe the postage. Not sure about that. Done.

I think you mean excommunicated.
I've heard from a Catholic cousin-of-a-cousin of mine that, once catholic always catholic (unless of course you've been excommunicated). But I don't know, it's not 1492 anymore! I'm not sure they still do that.

Just leave. The catholic church is not bringing the gospel of Christ!
For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. - Revelation 18:3-5.
This is evidence by all the pedophile preists God is giving up on them:
1 Timothy 4:1-3:
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. - Romans 1:24-27.
As far as worshipping the pope goes, I would give my opinion of him as a protestant, but it appears the Yahoo! answers moderators have adopted a pro-catholic bias.
Leaving the slavery of the Roman Catholic church just may be the best move you ever make in your life, I can testify to that!

I sympathize. On the other hand, you are letting them keep a hold on you by wanting them to do something for you. Personally, I just make them irrelevant -- I'm free of them now, by my own action.
In other words, YOU make it official!

Excellent! Do you think you have to be an ex-Catholic? I'd love to be declared a heretic.

Rather than relying on the church to excommunicate you why don't you excommunicate the church from you? The choice is entirely yours.
