Yes, except that in the 19th century, the Pope was foolish enough to declare the infallibity of the Pope as regards matters of faith. (Most JW's don't seem to realize that the Pope doesn't claim infallibility as a person.)

The JW leadership is smart enough to say "We aren't infallible", but - in essence - says "you still need to believe everything we say, and follow our direction as if we ARE infallible. We'll let you know when we make a mistake. Until then, just assume that there's no error in anything we tell you. '

Judge Rutherford described the Roman Catholic Heirarchy as a small group of men who have no genuine authority at all, but yet exercise authority over their faithful by keeping them in fear of their authority. Ironic.

No, But i see you spend a lot of time attacking JWS in the mean time you are loosing time and not spreading what Jesus command his followers to do..and we are doing that duty, we are the stones. Luke 19:40 " But in reply he said: “I tell YOU, If these remained silent, the stones would cry out.”

that is what you must be preaching go on, invite all your folks in the church and take it from the hand of the false JWS that work and do it.

Matthew 24:14 "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

Yes. In essence, both believe in an earthly elitist heirarchy that know Scripture better than us simple folk who only have the Holy Spirit.

No. catholics believe that the Pope is infallible, JWs believe that the governing body make mistakes. JWs do not use titles like Holy Father, we are all brothers. the Governing Body can marry, Catholic priests do not.

why the interest in the J.W.'s? just curious. My bf was one and now works with one, and this guy...OMG he is SOOOO serious. he actually argued with my bf that there is NO corruption in the J.W. religion. Not one man, woman or child who is a leader of the church has done ANYTHING for personal gain. He is truly misguided. he really messed up though when he started preaching to my 8 yr. old step son. whoa, buddy! I hope that someday they will wake up and realize that if only 144,000 people are going to heaven, then they are MAJORLY screwed! millions of people better than them have already lived, died and made it there.
