i have thought about putting chalkboard paint on the lid and paint around the box to make it look like a frame. what do you think and whats some ideas ?

That is a great Idea. It is metal, so you can use magnets on it as well. A chalk/bulletin board is very inventive. Remember that the panel must be decorated in a way that you can open it immediatly without having to move a lot of stuff.

It depends on what style your kitchen is....I would have someone make a barn wood "cabinet" to go around it. Or another thought is....old games are hot these days...maybe make something similar but with old game boards. Good luck!

I have use a matching cabinet face the door and jamb . It may be out of place away from other cabinets but it will hide the panel

that sounds like a neat idea,
how about buying a piece of corkboard and attaching it to
the lid of breaker box ,
so you can use it as a little message board as well and it wont
look like a sore thumb.

Hang a picture or a mirror over it. Then you still have easy access.
