From Jayski:

# How can someone get a NASCAR Nextel Cup [or Busch or Trucks] Rules Book?

Only teams, drivers, NASCAR Officials can get a Nextel Cup rules book. NASCAR does not sell them and I can't get them for anyone. You can join NASCAR, last I heard it was $400, see 1st question above on ways to contact NASCAR

Rules and Guidelines
NASCAR issues five different Rule Books, each of which includes in its title reference to a particular NASCAR-sanctioned series. There is a NASCAR Rule Book for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, a NASCAR Rule Book for the NASCAR Busch Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, NASCAR Regional Touring Series and NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. Each NASCAR Rule Book is published exclusively for NASCAR members.

NOTE: per legal reasons, I could not post the rules book(or parts of) even if I had one

I have seen a copy a couple years back but you as in general public can not obtain this unless you are planning on starting a team and need the guidelines. You would have set up a meeting with the board and prove to them that you are genuine in starting a team and have the financial backing and then you can purchase one not sure how much they cost. All tough most of the rules and guidelines are public knowledge so you can protest for the short book at anytime though it mainly contains rules for the race and conduct. Because you have to remember unlike other Auto racing NASCAR is a business not a sports club.

This is a new rule for that. No one can read the rules for nascar other than B. France. That rule will be in effect until they change the rules, NEXT WEEK. I hear that the rule book now weighs about 700 lbs so there is no way you can have one unless you own a fort lift to pick it up with. Thats a new rule. Each driver was given a new rule book but the rules state that they are not allowed to read them. Thats the rule. Also, if you have a Top Secret Clearance, have access to the vaults at Frot Knox, know B. Frances secret security code to his house, can recite the US constitution by heart, name all the world leaders, thier wifes, kids and grand-parents, you can put your name in a hat to have it drawn for the NEW rule book which will be given away when they rule on that. Now, what was your question?

They seem to be a closely guarded secret of Nascar. I've done search after search with no luck. I've contacted Nascar's corporate office asking for a copy only to be ignored. I think they just make them up as they go along. It's as though they're afraid to let the fans find out just how totally arbitrary and out of control Nascar has become.

The average fan can not obtain a copy of the "rules".How ever a team can order these for the driver-crew chiefs-managers.These are numbered and recorded and has to be returned to the team if asked for it.

IF there really is such a thing, the powers at nascar have it under lock and key next to a bottle of whiteout in case they have to change a rule...lol

The NASCAR Rule Book is not available to the public. And I don't think that it will ever be open to the public.

Hilarious. I doubt you can get a copy of something that Nascar makes up as it goes along.

Write and ask the New York Times. They print National Security secrets even if it exposes people to extreme damger or murder. They will print it just like they would have published pictures of Dale Sr's body if allowed.
