this is driving me nuts! i got a tv for christmas n because it was a display model, the shop had lost the remote so thru n a universal remote. however, none of the codes in the book work and i tried doing the manual thing but it started raising the volume and wouldnt go ne futher. ne one no nethin? its a Alba dvd combo tv n a strand 3 n 1 remote

You could try contacting the manufactuer of the Television for a genuine replacement for the remote control unit. They range in price greatly from £10 to £100 (believe it or not) however so depending on the TV you have it could be quite costly.

Otherwise Logitech universal remotes are amazing (if quite expensive) and may well do the trick for you, take a look at their website for more info.

Sadly, some of the cheaper-end TVs do not have compatible remote codes. BEKO (made in Turkey) is one such example. I suspect that this may be the problem. Why not try this link?

I'd say the same as mariusz360, it's the remote that's not compatable and is the problem not the 'sold as seen' TV.

cant you ring the manufacurers, they should have a code for you, i know what you mean about universal remotes tho i had one once, couldnt get on with it, so got loads of individual ones

Different brands work better. We got one from Target that one of the tech guys recommended and it works very well. Take that one back.

take the remote back for a new one.. just explain what you just explained and they will give you a new one
