It depends. Soldiers with dependents (spouse or children) get paid more than Soldiers with no dependents.
Single soldiers who join as Privates barely make $1500.00.
Soldiers with dependents can make at least $1000 more. And dependending on where they get stationed it will be even more than that.

Here's the amount each rank makes per month:
http://www.armytimes.com/static/money/pay_charts/2007basicpay/
If you don't have a college degree, you'll probably start as an E-1 and work your way up from there. If you have a degree and you choose to enlist, then you'll be an E-4. Or if you have a degree you could be a warrant officer or a commissioned officer instead of enlisting (so you'd be a W-1 or an O-1). I think future officers might get paid as an E-4 when they're in basic training, though.
Also note that these numbers exclude lots of things, like the housing and food allowance. Those things can vary a lot.

Its not a lot but since you are getting army housing, your 3 square meals a day, and everything else paid for all that adds up. My friend is an e-3, been active for about 1 and a half years, and he has his own house, and 2 cars and a truck sitting in the drive way, he's also married so that helps a little too, but still look at the fact that he's an e-3, Private first class!

$1300 a month starting off as a E-1 and thats before taxes, so not heck of alot. Once you finish basic and ait you'll get bas "food pay" which is around 250 a month. If you have dependants and choose not to live on post you'll get bah, "housing allowance" which varies, depending on rank and where you're located. The army is however offering signing bonus of up to $40,000 dollars, a pretty good chunk of change.

Go to the website below. Find your pay grade. If you are enlisting in the Army you will be an E- ___. Then look at less than 2 years of service.

Depends on allot of factors and equations Contact your Local Army Recuiter .
But it won't be much so if you want to enlist for the money i wouldn't.
I did it to support my country and took a drop in pay to do so.

All you need to do is take a look at the base pay for the service your looking to join...honestly its very very very little for the first few years....but the gain is all of the other things you get, education, housing, MWR stuff and more...good luck and thank you for thinking about serving...

This will depend on the rank you hold. Here is a website you can check out that shows monthly earnings minus BAH, BAQ, Hazardous duty pay, etc. http://www.armytimes.com/static/money/pay_charts/2007basicpay/
