The 4 Gigabyte iPhone is $500. The 8 G is $600. Plus you have to sign up for AT&T service (starting at $60 month for two years) to activate your iPhone features, even the iPod feature. To cancel before the two years are up, you have to pay $175 AT&T cancellation fee to cover the hardware costs that AT&T did NOT subsidize.
I read the PC Mag reviews on the iPhone. The iPod feature is sensational. The camera quality is OK. The web browser is good but does not support flash. The phone is awful.

In the UnitedStates iPhones are out now... you can get one from any AT&T or Apple store, or at www.apple.com. They cost $499 (4gb) or $599 (8gb). Note you have to sign up for a 2 year contract with AT&T, so your total cost over two years will be somewhere around $2100 - $2300 depending on the model you get and taxes/fees in your area.
