BUTTERMILK WAFFLES

1 1/4 cups of sifted cake flour or 1 2/3 cups unbleached flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 fluid oz eggs or 4 large eggs
2 cups buttermilk
16 tbsp. or 2 sticks of butter

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat eggs and buttermilk until well mixed. Add to flour mixture and beat lightly with a fork until flour is moistened. Stir in the butter. The batter should be lumpy. Over mixing will produce tough waffles.
Bake until golden brown and serve warm. Also good with maple syrup.

HOMEMADE TWINKIES

1 yellow cake mix
5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar

Bake 1 yellow cake mix in 9 x 13 inch pan. Cool. Split lengthwise (I use a jelly roll pan lined with wax paper and cut cake in half. Wax paper will peel off.)
Cook until thick: 5 tablespoons flour and 1 cup milk, stirring constantly. Cool.

Beat until fluffy: 1/2 cup Crisco, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 cup sugar.

Stir flour mixture well. Slowly add to sugar. Beat until very fluffy. Use a small, deep bowl.

Put filling between layers of cake and dust with powdered sugar. Refrigerate.

Very Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!

Waffles are made out f a similar batter to pancakes. I believe you add a little extra butter or oil to help crisp the surface.

If the Welsh potato-waffle is made on a clam-shell-type waffle grill, then you use the same equipment we use. Just pour a ladle of batter onto the grid and lower the lid. The waffle is supposed to be done when the little red light comes on.

You serve the waffle hot, with butter and maple syrup, or top it with sliced, sweetened strawberries, and whipped cream. (Other fruit toppings are good also...) You might serve eggs, bacon and hash brown potatoes if you're really looking for a heavy meal...

Twinkies are simply a little sponge cake filled with a creamy gooey filling. They are manufactured by a company called "Hostess" and come in packs of two. Personally, I don't see why they are so popular...

Waffles are made with thicker pancake batter and poured into an iron. You close the lid and wait a few minutes and then you open it and you have basically a dimpled pancake. There are regular waffles and Belgian waffles, that are thicker than regular waffles. Both are very good. As far as Twinkies, well, I'm not sure anybody knows what they're made of, but they are rounded rectangular cakes, yellow in color, and have a cream filling. Some people in the US take great pleasure in doing microwave experiments with Twinkies and I've even seen a cookbook with recipes using them. They're very bad for you and most people haven't really had one since childhood.

A waffle is a light batter cake cooked in a waffle iron, between two hot plates, patterned to give a distinctive shape.

In the United States American waffles are now normally made from a wheat-flour batter leavened with baking powder, rather than the traditional yeast. They are usually served as a sweet breakfast food, topped with butter and various syrups, but are also found in many different savory dishes. They are generally denser and thinner than the Belgian waffle.

Hi Jen!

Waffles use a similar batter to American pancakes, and are cooked in one of these: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/289942

Ranging from $20US to you-don't-want-to-know-how-much, these machines make a crispy on the outside, tender on the inside grid of insanely yummy breakfast.

Waffles make the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich ever, and can be covered with just about anything imaginable!

As for twinkies, well, they're a simple golden sponge cake, injected with a cream filling. The result is a cake-snack that stays moist for a VERY long time and is cheap enough that everyone has had them! We all know and love them (even as we say "ew, I can't believe you're eating that!"

Best wishes!

Waffles are kind of like ridged pancakes.
Here's a picture of waffles with strawberries:

People like to top waffles with syrup or other fruits. They are very popular and have many different varieties. All restaurants that serve breakfast has waffles. To amke them, you pour a thick batter into a waffle iron (a machine with a specific set of grooves and such to mak the porper design) and wait a few minutes. When a light on the iron turns a green or red or whatever that specific model turns, it's done. You can addd different things to it such as blueberries, bananas, even chocolate! They are sooo yummy!

Twinkies are like mini-cakes with a cream filling. They are very well known pastries and also known for their extreme fat content.

Waffles are kind of like pancakes, but they have a pattern of squares on them, and are harder. Waffles are made in a hot iron plate, and are pressed to form in the shape of waffles. You should look up on the internet, american wafles, and they might be able to give you a picture.

waffles are made from a batter simular to pancake batter except it has added oil or butter for richness.
I have 2 recipes i use depending on the texture or richness i desire .1 is a simple batter like the one describe above and the other is a sweet egg and butter rich yeast batter,I use for desserts.
it is then poured onto a hot waffle iron which is a 2 sided grid hinged together to open and close, when done its removed and then your only limitation is your imagination.
it can be dressed with sweets like strawberries and whipped cream or butter and syrup or even ice cream.or it can be use for a savory entree such as chicken and waffles or creamed chicken or tuna.
