I don't know how safe the procedure is, but I do know how safe you will be if it isn't done -- not very. If a brain aneurism should rupture, you're history.

Having the aneurysm coiled is MUCH safer and will have a significantly shorter recovery time than the traditional aneurysm clipping. (For that, they cut out a piece of your skull, dig painstakingly through your brain and put a clip on the blood vessel. Very serious surgery, very real chance of death.)

Doing nothing is also risky, because if the aneurysm leaks or ruptures, the outcome can be quite bad.

Ask the doctor who will be doing the coiling what to expect. That's a very reasonable question, and they probably have literature about it to give to you.

Best of luck!

Yolee, I don't anything about this procedure but I want to tell you that I hope everything goes well for you. If I were you I would research this and find out everything you can about the procedure, risks, aftercare, recovery, etc. It's always best to be over informed. I do wish you a speedy and complete recovery.

It's always a good idea to get more than one opinion from different doctors.
