Fees vary in different locations of the USA. In the South, a half-hour would cost around $12.50. In the North, about $35 a half-hour, and in California, it could cost as much as $50 for a half-hour.

I've changed little in my fees since I began to teach guitar because I'm not in it for the money, but for passing down to the next generation what I know.

I was in the same boat you're in a few weeks ago. I couldn't afford the fees for a private guitar instructor so I started looking online for training courses. I also didn't feel comfortable going to an instructors house or having them come to mine. I looked up "learn guitar quickly" on Google and found a Squidoo lens. It's from a guy with a site called - I think Jamdojo or something like that.

They recommended a course and I went ahead and bought it. It only cost around $30 which I could afford. The course claims to be able to teach you how to play in a weekend so I thought what the heck.

I downloaded the ebook and printed it out. It was easy to follow and actually fun to learn with. I was actually able to play a song in one weekend. I was shocked. That's my 2c worth. Good luck

In the USA it varies, I've seen it cost as little as $10.00 for a half hour to $50.00 dollars depending where you live. I've been telling kids on here that now that summer is here some guitar students who don't have their degrees yet teach in the summer, so call your local colleges and see, if not check the paper sometimes you'll find someone who teaches for a lesser amount because they don't have degrees, but are well versed in guitar music, so check around, get a lot of quotes, even try your local music stores, some aren't as bad as you think.

The cost of guitar lessons differ from one tutor to another. The easiest way to do it is to contact a few different tutors and ask for a quote, then go with one that you can realisticly afford.
