I had been into this endoscopy and my doctor said i have this Hiatal Hernia. Some said theres no way this hernia will get back to normal. I am afraid if this will get worst and will have this surgery. Do you think this Hiatal Hernia will go back to normal and can i get my normal breathing if i follow and take the medicines my doctor is giving me? Especially it has something to do with protruding?

An hiatal hernia is a weakness in some part of the diaphragm muscle, allowing food to flow back and protrude into the oesophagus and causing heartburn. (As the lining of the oesophagus is not as acid resistent as the stomach lining).
It will not go away.
Here is what you should do to minimize the effects:
1. Eat small portions 4 or 5 times a day rather than 3 times.
2. Eat your last meal AT LEAST 3 hours before going to bed.
3. After eating your last meal take a foam/gel medication to stay on top of the contents of your stomach.(Your doc will know what I mean).
3. Use a lot of pillows so that you can sleep at a 60º angle.
4. If you get an attack whereby you have difficulty breathing SIT UPRIGHT OR STAND UPRIGHT. DO NOT PANICK. The attack will subside in a few moments.
5. Stay away from chocolates, mint, all kind of spices, and all kind of citrus fruit (Acid).
6. In order to stabilize the heartburn I am sure you have been prescribed one of two classic medicines:ranitidine or cimetidine (These are generic names not trade marks).

If the situation does not stabilize I am afraid you will need surgery. All the best. Dr House

If you have a hiatal hernia, sometimes you can alleviate the problem with loosing weight, how much do you weigh. The protruding is the stomach pushing into the diaphragm up and
causing the problem. If it's this bad even loosing weight isn't going to help.
I would guess that your going to have to have surgery to help this.

The hernia is a weakness in the wall that separates the stomach from the esophagus. It will only get worse over time. If you have the insurance...get it fixed. As you get older it will be a bigger problem for you and keep you from being able to exercise properly
